Why choose a Thermas cooling case?
Thermas has many years of market experience—its products are trusted and used by millions of people with diabetes worldwide. It allows insulin to be kept at the correct temperature while traveling. If you need reliable insulin cooling during hot weather, this is an effective solution.
How does the THERMAS cooling case work? Is cooling insulin without a fridge possible?
After immersing the THERMAS case in cold water for the recommended time (depending on the model), the crystals inside the inner insert turn into a gel. Then evaporation begins: air interacts with the gel to produce a cooling effect. Proper operation requires airflow, so the case must not be stored in vacuum packaging or airtight/waterproof bags while active..
What temperature does the THERMAS case maintain?
Insulin begins to degrade at 30°C. THERMAS cooling cases maintain insulin within a safe temperature range of approximately 18–26°C, depending on ambient conditions. For example, at an external temperature of 38.8°C, the case can keep insulin at 26°C for a minimum of 45 hours.
Instructions - How to use the Thermas cooling case:
1. immerse the inner insert with crystals in cold water for 8–12 minutes2. Gently distribute the crystals along the stitched channels3. After soaking, the crystals will turn into a gel (noticeable by touch)4. Once the gel fills the compartments, remove the case and let excess water drain5. Pat dry with a paper towel and place into the outer pouch6. Ready to use
Note: The time is approximate—remove the insert when the gel fills about ¾ of the inner compartments and allow excess water to be absorbed.Important: Activation can be done using any cold water (tap, river, bottled). Do not use boiling water or immerse in salty seawater.
